Dewa nyoman Jati was born in Ubud, in 1940. He fist learned to point from his uncle, I Dewa Putu Bedil he work on the theme of Balinese daily life such as the activities in fisherman's family and in rice field. He works are discussed in several publications that include hugh mabbet's the balinas.eA number of museum,one of wich is neka museum in Ubud,have his work in their collection.he same time write name 'Djati'still using the old spelling revise in 1972.He is a painter successful in selling works.from the selling of this work he built a cozy home stay for tourists.
